PDR Tag Team Drama Discussion #4

It’s been a while since we weighed in on the local drama scene, so let’s have another chat. Here we discuss Walang Hanggan, Amaya, the upcoming Indio, and of course, Princess and I.

Laya: I want to find time to re-read Wuthering Heights because it looks like a lot of the early parts of Walang Hanggan follow it rather closely. It’s only the “new chapter” that doesn’t. When that drama’s finished, I kind of want to make a comparison review lol. I’m irritated with Katerina and Daniel being all emo, but… well, Catherine and Heathcliff are originally weepy and brooding really.

And I have a prediction. Yaya Perla’s friend in Bicol, Luisa… is Katerina’s biological mother. Now all that remains is to find out if I’m right.

Alquanna: :( I’m not able to watch much TV anymore. Oh well. You should make that drinking game post already! I don’t really watch Walang Hanggan anymore. I’m not happy with it!

Laya: Neither am I!

Alquanna: Then why are you watching it? It’s enough to make one blog post saying why it sucks!

Laya: So I can criticize it properly!?!

Alquanna: And then leave it at that! You masochist. You’re like my mom!

Laya: They’ll say “you say it’s bad because you didn’t watch it.” So I can say… yes, I suffered through it, dammit!

Alquanna: I watched only three episodes! That was enough to make me say I don’t want any more! It’s not like I’m actively hating it…

Laya: And it has its moments. That make you go WTF.

Alquanna: I’m in the “no such thing as bad publicity” camp :D

Laya: Pfft. Princess and I is, as usual, most excellent. I love Jao, even though he’s over 10 years younger than me! And I just love the way Han has turned from jailer to accomplice. I don’t even like Enrique Gil, but Jao has me flailing. I guess… I’m not keen on fair-skinned guys. I like his eyes though. Heehee. And I like me my princes as men of action.

Yes, I won’t get tired of saying this: I love that we actually have intelligent characters now. I like that Gino is a second lead you can also root for. And he gets the best one-liners anyway. I am so intrigued by Mikay’s bangs, since it’s such a recurring joke. I wonder how long ago they shot the scenes that are shown now, because when I saw Kath at her mall show last week, she doesn’t have bangs at all.

Alquanna: Hair extensions. Easy.
