Meanwhile, Mikay gets tasked to deliver a large order of hotdogs… to the pool party. She’s met by the mean girls, and Maddie pointedly asks if she isn’t even ashamed to be a servant to her schoolmates. Mikay asks back why she should be ashamed that she has an honest job and is working to help her family. Just then both Gino and Jao arrive on the run. “Hi, Mikay!”
“You came!” Jao exclaims happily, and Mikay realizes he’s the one responsible for her being there. She wants to just do her job and set the food down and leave– Maddie tells her to go– but Jao insists that she stay, and so does Gino.
So Mikay circulates with the food, like a waitress, while the mean girls fume. They turn to Bianca instead, urging her to hurry up and reel Han in before Mikay gets a chance to sink her hooks into him like she did Gino. If Mikay becomes the princess, does Bianca want to bow to her? (You girls hit the nail on the head there, but you don’t even know, ha.)
Gino tries to help Mikay, but she just tells him to go away. Both are interrupted by Jao, who’s doing that pointing thing with his lips, but they don’t understand what he’s trying to say.
Cut suddenly to Kiko, who’s also pouting as he tries on some outfits and takes photos of himself, muttering all the while how it’s hard to imitate the guys in the photos Dindi gave him. And we see that his bed is littered with huge photos of actors, LOL.
Gino asks Jao if Mikay is the reason he’s in the country. Jao: I have many reasons. He tells Gino he was asked to be king, but he wants to know what he wants to do with his life, not what people want him to do. In the course of the conversation, Gino learns that Jao gave Mikay her new scholarship.
Mikay wants to go home already, but Jao asks her to dance with him, since some of the other kids at the party are already on the dance floor. She’s all “You dance?” and he goes, “I’m the best dancer in Yangdon!” And then he begins to dance to “Teach Me How To Dougie.” Pffft. He does it well enough that everyone else, including Han, begin to follow suit. Bianca looks annoyed for a while, but ends up dancing beside Han, ha. Mikay looks skeptical at first, but ends up smiling and swaying with the music.
She grudgingly admits that Jao does know how to dance. He’s all “there’s a lot you don’t know about me!” Han interrupts– when are they leaving, he’s had too much to drink already. Jao tells him they’ll leave in a bit, but he should go off for a while and leave Jao alone.
