Admittedly, I haven’t been able to follow Princess and I as much as I’d like – which is a shame, because it’s one of the better dramas out there in terms of cast and story. (I’ll catch the reruns on IWanTV – since we’re SkyCable subscribers at home, we have free access to their old videos.)
Kath Bernardo is starting to look like the next Pinoy telenovela queen, after the string of hit dramas she starred in. Since she has some experience in comedy (she did start out in Goin’ Bulilit, plus her role in Princess and I isn’t too serious), and if she gets a comedic role in the future, she’ll become a more “complete” actress. Someone like Maricel Soriano – can do both dramas and sitcoms. And considering her age, she has a very promising future ahead.
That said, Cinemalaya 2012 is ongoing, so expect quite a number of posts on that in the next few days. While PDR’s focus is on dramas, we can’t just ignore good films, either – especially when drama hunks like Coco Martin got their start in indies.
