Amaya – Episode 70 Recap

The episode begins with Lamitan, nearing the end of her wits, refusing to believe Amaya is the prophesied woman with the snake-twin. Silay tries to convince her still, however, saying that she overheard one of the child alabays talking to a snake about Amaya’s victory.

A kid? Lamitan asks and Silay nods. Lamitan suggests that the kid may be just playing around with the snake, but Silay insists that the kid was really talking to the snake. Finally Lamitan is convinced.

At the rajah’s residence, Kayang tells Amaya that her sister is already sleeping and Mantal may not allow her to visit anymore. Amaya instead hands over the fruits she brought over to Kayang, who tells her that the rajah will have Marikit checked by the chief babaylan tomorrow. Amaya is happy at the news, and Kayang agrees that yes, it is good despite the rajah just knowing Marikit is but a pawn in Lamitan’s plans.

Lingayan arrives and the pair acknowledge her presence. Lingayan tells Amaya that they need to talk.

Back at the slave quarters, Lamitan is happy that she learned of Amaya’s secret – she can use it to free herself from slavery – but to avoid making more mistakes, she needs more proof. She then orders Silay to keep a close watch on Amaya, and that she must be able to see the chief alabay with her snake-twin for proof.

Meanwhile, Bagani spends some time alone in the forest after the raid. He hears some scuffling in the brushes and draws his sword. The noise stops and he relaxes a bit, but he hears some scuffling again and throws a dagger in the direction of the sound, nearly hitting Binayaan’s foot.

Binayaan yells that she’s not an enemy, and Bagani replies that yes, he knows she isn’t – he’s just making sure that she knows how to dodge quickly. He asks her why she followed him into the forest; Binayaan simply replies that it’s just a coincidence they used the same path. Picking up the knife, she yells that he can have his balaraw (knife) back…and throws it back at him.

Bagani manages to dodge the knife, and asks if she intends to kill him. Binayaan says that she also just wanted to check if he can dodge quickly. He then invites her to spar using the swords, and as Bagani manages to block her strike, they stop, look at each other…

Cutscene to the seashore, where Bagani’s shenanigans poke around all the loot from the raid. As they examine some of the items, they spy a group of warriors arriving at the shore, and decide to wake up everyone.

As Binayaan nears for the kiss, Bagani stops and remembers Amaya. He apologizes to Binayaan – she apologizes too – and they both make it clear to each other that they’re just friends. Binayaan makes her marriage to Saghid the reason for remaining as just friends.

The warriors finally reach Bagani and Binayaan, tellingthemabout theincoming
