Review – Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington

My mom and I got to watch Zombadings 1: Patayin sa Shokot si Remington last night at a benefit screening organized by the Love Yourself Project. And I must say this: it’s right up there with Ang Babae sa Septic Tank in terms of comedy (and at some points, even funnier).

So what is it about? It’s about Remington, who made fun of a gay man when he was younger. The gay man then cast a curse on him, saying that he’ll transform to a gay guy too. Fast-forward to fifteen years later, and the curse on Remington takes effect. Meanwhile, a serial killer is terrorizing Remington’s town, killing all the gays in the neighborhood. So how did the movie reconcile those two points? You have to watch it to find out. ;)

Now you know what the movie is all about, why is it worth watching? The biggest reason is that it doesn’t laugh at the gay community; it’s laughing with the gay community.
